You cannot use one group's civil rights as a bargaining chip.

I won't even bother telling you how awful that is, but just like, strategically speaking, you cannot do it.

Because if one group's is up for debate, everyone's is, and you can't campaign on being an antidote to what you're perpetuating.

They're also doing this to citizens too, so, like, even middle-of-the-road, not insanely racist folks can't argue that what's going on currently isn't blatantly unconstitutional.

Masked ICE agents are violating the 4th Amendment blatantly. The amendment isn't foggy. It doesn't say "citizens." It says "the right of the people" to be secure in their persons and homes. Sue them as John Does. You can if they violate your constitutional rights. I would. See Bivens lawsuit.

Last year they claimed “illegals” were voting, without any evidence.

They used fear mongering to push for voter suppression laws.

Now they claim “illegals” are getting free healthcare, again without any evidence.

So they can make healthcare unaffordable for millions of Americans.

Now look, I'm not accusing anyone of dressing up nonsense to look like actual favorable statistics..........

..........but hypothetically, were someone to do that, it'd sure look a lot like this, is all I'm sayin..........

I worry we're going to see some pushback here of a sort we by and large haven't from, say, Los Angeles.

Not tryna trash talk anybody from anywhere, or say what others should do given x, y, or z, but from my own experiences....

I think Chicago's the real litmus test, folks, for good or ill.

So, here's the thing that's both hopeful but very, very worrisome:

Fox viewers in flyover country think NYC, LA, all these 'blue' cities are the same. They're not.

Chicago is...well, like every city, pretty liberal, but it's also Midwestern.

So 'encounters' have potential to be more...
