he does say is really interesting (he's really down on stuff like the puppets and the non sequitur sketches). I don't know what book Ian Rankin read but it's not 'backstage anecdotes' at all. There's a page on Alexei Sayle being a conversational monomaniac but that's about it. Anyway, recommended.

JR Berserker! by Adrian Edmondson. An entertaining read, he comes across as very amiable. The skipping-back-and-forth is a little confusing - he describes university as a happy time and then recounts a mental health crisis from the same period - but life is like that. He writes very movingly about

This morning I turned on my phone only to find that it had changed my user name to Shirley, and when I tried to enter a simple Google query it came out as "Do you like gladiator movies?"

When I got my second COVID vaccine, the nurse was looking tired and stressed. Checking on any reactions to the previous jab, she asked me "How was your head?"
Without thinking, I said "No complaints so far" - and then panicked. Luckily, her sudden laugh filled the sports centre hall.

We have built a society in which people of different skin tones, religious backgrounds & cultures get along, share power, work alongside each other, procreate with each other, recognise the each other’s humanity and democratic rights. It is a STUNNING ACHIEVEMENT OF WORLD HISTORIC PROPORTIONS.
