My latest long read: Jeff Kent is a serial conman who bilks vulnerable women out of their money. He’s the first fraudster in Canadian history to be deemed a dangerous offender and locked up indefinitely.

He’s also someone who used to regularly call me from jail

Jeff Kent is a serial conman who defrauds women. Does he deserve the harshest punishment in Canadian criminal law?

Sportsnet radio guy said the Yankees starter’s stuff was great today, the Jays were just able to smack the hell out of it. So I guess your stuff can be technically proficient while also eminently hittable?

Sure dingers are great, but an underrated part of baseball for me is calling a pitcher’s selection of pitches his “stuff”

35 years of pretty consistent reading, including 6 reading Canlii, and I still wasn't prepared for nugatory.

Walmart pulled out of Prince Rupert, B.C. after citing safety issues that most locals interpreted as the fact the sidewalk outside is unstable (there was a collapse in May) but also as an excuse because the store wasn't profitable enough.

However, the Daily Mail went with this
Isolated but beautiful coastal town now so dangerous Walmart has closed 'lifeline' supermarket there
