I spoke with my grandma today about what's been happening on the news, and was nervous about what's become of this country. She said she was frightened/angered at the thought of the US regressing back into the world she grew up in (Jim crow, the depression, and world wars).

I'm raising new colonies of (lasius umbratus) ants this year, since my old colony lost their queen during hibernation. So far I've caught three queens and will be raising them in separate environments.

This country really is turning back time. It's only a matter of time before these try to justify reinstating Jim Crow laws to prevent "white discrimination".
I’m struck by the Trump administration’s attempt to redefine equality as discrimination against white people. This is a deeply racist idea that *equal outcomes* must be unfair, assuming white people are naturally at the top of the hierarchy.
