Tron: Ares is a good movie. Loved the style and music of it all. The story is absurd but who cares. Was not expecting to like it, but 8/10.

Anyhow, it turns out that I now think 3 hours is a very reasonable and healthy amount of time to spend thinking about elections in any given quarter.

I think I've maybe spent 3 hours this fall thinking about this year's Calgary municipal election (about 1% as much as usual), which is almost certainly a direct consequence of various anxiety management activities I've been engaged in this year, which is at least mildly interesting to me.

Sometimes I wonder what a social media site would be like if it was more than just the basic follow-people-you-like-and-argue-with-strangers model. Bluesky gives you tools to minimize the toxic parts of that, but it is still fundamentally that kind of site.

Watched Section 31. Thought it was going to be awful and tired, but it wasn't. It's an action B-movie that happens to exist in the Star Trek universe. I liked the actors and never felt bored. Would I recommend it...? Sure, with caveats.

You know what movie I saw that was 10x worse? Thunderbolts.

My shower drain clogged and I pulled about 2 large rats worth of hair from the shower drain today. Invest in a drain auger. It was so gross but so satisfying. Now the drain is flowing free for the first time since I moved in here.

My mind is so loud and full of distractions, but every once in a while I manage to finish a complete thought, and it feels like the voices all stop for a minute. Maybe I should get tested for ADHD lol.

Watching the pageantry around the new pope, it's hard not to think that in a different life, all these people would be super into cosplay culture. It's all adults playing dress-up, and being obsessed with their special interest media (the bible), and getting into arguments about fandom (theology).

Man films and confronts two suspected undercover ICE officers (potentially NYPD) after they racially profiled and handcuffed a random civilian. Keep doing this shit. Make these fuckers famous. Make all police and immigration officers fear having their faces known to the masses.

The fascist coalition uses "woke" to define itself, by excluding everyone they are not. The definition of woke changes constantly because the term exists to exclude everyone who isn't in the fascist coalition.

Someone I follow on here lost their mom a few weeks ago. I think about them fairly often and hope they are doing well. Watching them go through the loss, regrets, etc... I wish there was anything I could say to them that was appropriate to say to a stranger.
