Unanimous First Circuit takes pains to emphasize that this was an incredibly easy case to decide, despite writing a very long opinion knocking down every ridiculous argument the Trump admin made.
The analysis that follows is necessarily lengthy, as we
must address the parties' numerous arguments in each of the cases
involved. But the length of our analysis should not be mistaken
for a sign that the fundamental question that these cases raise
about the scope of birthright citizenship is a difficult one. It
is not, which may explain why it has been more than a century since
a branch of our government has made as concerted an effort as the
Executive Branch now makes to deny Americans their birthright.

Three cheers for the Constitution's right to a jury: a federal jury in Los Angeles "took just over an hour to acquit [Brayan] Ramos-Brito of a misdemeanor assault count" in an ICE-scuffle case hinging heavily on the testimony of border sector chief Gregory Bovino, now doing raids in Chicago.

I join the many leaders condemning the hateful rhetoric of an Arizona elected official against Rep. Pramila Jayapal, @jayapal.house.gov. Calling for the hanging of a member of Congress for advocating for non-violent protest is not only an attack on her but a threat to a core tenet of our democracy.

I was glad to join dozens of elected leaders around the region as a signatory of this letter in support of food service workers at local Meta offices in Bellevue and Redmond.

BREAKING: 40 elected leaders sent a letter to Lavish Roots and Meta urging them to be neutral and respect workers’ desire to form a union. Over 200 Lavish workers who prepare and serve meals for Meta employees in WA state are organizing, and our elected leaders have our backs!
DEAR MR. ZUCKERBERG, META LEADERSHIP, AND MR. LAVIELLE,
We are writing as elected leaders representing communities in the Puget Sound region at
various levels of government. We urge you to remain neutral and respect the desire expressed
by food service workers at Meta offices in Bellevue and Redmond, WA, who are employed by
Lavish Roots, to organize a union without fear, intimidation and employer interference.
Many of the workers preparing and serving food and drink to Meta employees are our
constituents and we support them as they organize for basic safety, stability, equality and
respect. We believe that unions are essential in ensuring that working people in the service
industry have a path to sustaining themselves in a region that is faced with a rise in the cost of
living and income inequality.
We are looking forward to working collaboratively with you on this issue. Please don’t hesitate
to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.
Sincerely,

64% of Medicaid recipients under age 65 work, per KFF. As for the rest, see below. There are not 34m potential agricultural workers on Medicaid just raring to go pick vegetables.

With this vote, Congress makes ICE the highest-funded federal law enforcement agency in history, with more money per year at its disposal over the next four years than the budgets of the FBI, DEA, ATF, US Marshals, and Bureau of Prisons combined.

Sadly not a new phenomenon. Many veterans have been deported over the years, often because of drug problems they acquired after PTSD from their time in the service.

Wildly unlawful and will immediately cause MORE chaos for refugees and, ironically, force them to use more benefits like SNAP!
