And raise the GLD targets, introduce more tests because that will sort it out.

Very few EHC plans provide adequate funding for 1:1 support. Schools haven't got spare income. Also, it can be detrimental as access to the teacher is reduced. Our broken system is hurting everyone.

Oh, don't misunderstand me: I am sure they do need more support. But having a dedicated adult (often agency staff on a tiny wage) doesn't automatically fix issues. This is why the "why" behind the behaviour is so important and support holistically planned around this so they get what they need.

It was never meant in a nice way.

It's called being a parent. Best and worst. You watch them grow, they drive you mad, you wonder if you focused too much on other people's children, but my goodness, you love them.
