I actually don't have that game on my radar, but I think we are in an era where we're gonna see more of these cases and see if this is a vocal minority or loud majority thing. If a game openly uses AI and it sells well, it'll probably set a standard

It was used for placeholder images that were later patched out and addressed in patch notes. Again, I don't want a witch hunt here, just want to keep all informed and open the conversation

Also, where do we draw the line? If a dev used AI to code a method no-one would know because it's a black box. I fear even then no one would bat an eye. I'm all for giving devs jobs, so what if those devs then used AI to help them do said job? It's such an open and unexplored space

I've been deep in the weeds of this discussion, and to be clear I hate AI. I just find it crazy that Clair Obscur got away with the same thing, and also that once someone finds a shred of AI it becomes a witch hunt. Which...fair, but what if it was never caught or did get replaced beforehand?

Hey, that's me! Thanks for opening this up to discussion. To be clear, I don't want a witch hunt for E33. I just didn't hear anything about E33 but I saw backlash at the Alters. I played both and loved both, so I'm super curious. I'm not a fan of AI, but am surprised at the reaction from all others

Thank you for clarifying. While it is unfortunate that AI was used as a last minute solution, I'm glad there are steps to rectify it. I would ask everyone else to ask themselves if they would hold Expedition 33 (which also shipped with an accidental AI placeholder asset) to the same standard...

I won't make claims on this until we know more, but damn y'all...we need to do our own fair amount of research, use critical thinking, see both sides of a debate, and THEN draw lines in the sand

I won't claim that it ISN'T AI, but in my head if someone made a Sci-Fi game an put a quantum computer and research lab in it, maybe the flavor set was purposefully written to LOOK like AI being used by the scientist? I'm probably on a bit of copium but I can't dismiss either possibility

Yeah, I hate AI as much as the next guy, especially in creative works. I see your point and it is concerning, and I'd like to think about the other side too. Let's say the studio couldn't afford to have someone localize to Portuguese, should they just not translate it and leave that audience out?

Guys, I hate AI as much as the next guy, but aside from the glaring translation issue, do we know FOR SURE that AI made the character art and the text? For all we know, this was all stuff made by humans and we're just crucifying it because it REMINDS us of AI...

All I could find was AI being used for translating dialogue. I get that if even 1% of the game is made by AI then that taints the whole product for some people, but seeing people boycott this awesome game just because AI is even INVOLVED is heart-breaking. Can anyone elaborate more?
