Anyway, I’m on the market for a way to organize a largeish photo library:
- Free software much preferred but not mandated;
- Multiplatform preferred;
- Huge bonus if somehow I can make it be local metadata but store the actual photos on my NAS;
- In which case Mac-only is acceptable

An illustration teacher told us one day “an artist is only as good as his reference folder” and I still think about that. Delegating the ref-gathering & moodboarding to genAI, aside from all the ethical concerns, seems to me the single most cruel and devastating thing you can do to your design.
