🌱A happy memory of preparing slow roasted tomatoes with our herbs and delicious olive oil to go in the oven to perfume our kitchen
When the tomatoes are producing like mad we slow roast them in a low oven. The smell is divine but the rich sweet resulting flavor is a family favorite. You can enjoy them on a baguette, in a sandwich, on a pizza, with pasta or faro, in a salad dressing, crushed for a sauce, in a casserole or in any number of ways. Straight from the tray with a fork is my favorite! They freeze beautifully if you ever have any leftovers. Here is a tray of colorful cherries cut in half with our basil, garlic, oregano, a bit of cracked black pepper and and a sprinkle of local sea salt- these drizzled with olive oil are ready to roast

The air is still and moist and quiet. I can hear every bird call. Hope you are breathing in the sweetness.
There’s so much snow and ice in all the tide pools it’s almost difficult to imagine we’re on Cape Cod. The air is so still that as a shore bird flies overhead, I can hear their wings flap and move to a glide. Hope you are able to embrace with me some of the softness.

The tide is just beginning to go out and the gulls are gathering in groups trying to protect each other from the winds off Cape Cod Bay. The sand is flying, the beach is empty (except for me), and the day beckons. Heading home soonish to get some soup on the stove.

The cold air tinged with snow painted beautiful white curvatures in the sand overnight leaving behind a work of art as the tide changed. The curves were now visible to all. With spikes attached to my boots (finally!) I walked easily over the slippery sand.

Snow fence on the Bay working to keep sand on the beaches as winds blow. Calm morning with inches of light fluffy snow frosting the sand like powdered sugar. It’s fun to be the one to mark the first early tracks. The air is fresh and washed and smells wonderful. Good day to feed the birds and provide fresh water if you possibly are able
