An Abraham Darby rose discovered blooming amongst the herbs 🌱🌹

In a bowl of water with parsley, sage and rosemary is a single Abraham Darby rose. So many petals and a lovely color of mixed pink tinged with gold on this David Austin rose. It’s a standout in every bouquet. The perfume of the rose wafts generously through the string just cut herb fragrances which is unusual and a bit of fun I think. I love the contrast of the rose on the counter next to a large roasting pan.

Brilliant orange butternut squash cut in half to begin prep for Thursday. Grown in our garden from an organic seed. This one is 4.7 pounds. So pleased about good long neck and starting to get in the spirit of the holiday as I hum a tune. Happy holidays to all 👋🥰

Cloudless blue sky with no wind. Changing tide. Creek so shallow one might not guess there’s a powerful current that runs through it at full tide. The sea grasses are green and golden. The sand is damp and soft from being only just exposed to the sunny air. Shells abound this morning: clams, quahogs, mussels, scallops, razor clams, snails and many others. There is a wide variety of shore birds that catch your eyes as they take flight and then gather in groups to rest or perhaps search for Sunday brunch 💙
