@kairyssdal.bsky.social - history matters

As a student of history what reading would you recommend to start understanding what the next few years could look like?

It's not too late to join @agu-h3s.bsky.social! It's a great opportunity to network with early-career hydrologists across the globe and develop initiatives aimed at supporting the #hydrology community

If you have any questions at all (H3S, groundwater, career, etc...) I'm happy to chat. Drop a comment, send a message. If you're in DC, I will make time to meet up with you and chat in person if you'd like. (Q.E.D.)

Are you familiar with what #AGU_H3S does and have thought it would be fun to be a part of this group. We're actively recruiting new members for the 2025-2027 cohort! Check out our website (www.agu-h3s.org) and a pop-up will direct you to the application. (Penultimate comment, I think)

Don't know what #AGU_H3S, but you want to? We will have a booth in the Exhibit Hall (#746 near ESRI) with our members hanging out and wanting to talk to people about our initiatives. Most of us will have a button or sticker on our name tag as well. Stop us and say hi (Still not done. Next comment)

Traveling to DC for #AGU24 and reflecting on the fact that this week marks the end of my tenure with @agu-h3s.bsky.social. I've enjoyed being able to support early-career hydrologists and have a built-in network every year at Fall Meeting. (Continued in comments / don't stop here)

Great list Luka. Thank you for compiling
@paigeinabook.bsky.social would be good addition as well

I don't think about zircon geochemistry or what that can tell us about early Earth tectonics. But, I have really cool pals like @emilyemixon.bsky.social that thinks about those things, does rad experiments, and writes compelling papers.

Don't sleep on this one! 10/10 recommend.

New paper out in PNAS featuring #zircon #geochemistry from two of the oldest fragments of continental crust! People often talk about a transition from stagnant-to mobile-lid tectonics during the #Archean, but our results reveal early tectonic diversity! www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...

Hydrology Outweighs Temperature in Driving Production and Export of Dissolved Carbon in a Snowy Mountain Catchment
The timing, duration, and size of snowmelt is more influential than temperature in regulating the production and export of dissolved carbon The shallow soil zone produces and exports most of the ...
