Lots of reposts of this, but I haven't seen anyone note through its allusion to scripture here that DHS is equating itself with Mary, Joseph, and Jesus.

Here’s the one that genuinely kills me. The 2015 5K iMac. Gorgeous display—STILL—wrapped around completely unusable innards in 2026. So, can you use it as a monitor?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha… ahhhhhh… No.

Need an end-of-year binge? In LONG SHADOW: BREAKING THE INTERNET @vermontgmg.bsky.social scours 25 years of web history—from Y2K to brain rot—to show how our current moment became so wild and divisive. (It wasn't always like this.)

You have deleted this response, Grant. But since you're wondering these questions, I'll respond here.

Just do a google — it's out there! But this is the same version that Tony Gilroy gave to Stephen Colbert, and I like it!

I really think people should be paying for journalism but I’m having a hard time stomaching the past 24 hours of editorial decisions by @nytimes.com.

My friend Sam has cancer—Stage IV melanoma. He was diagnosed while we were working together on the biggest story of our careers. I've watched him navigate it with grace and hope, despite the odds.

We've all asked what kind of a god allows for cancer. I'll add this: What kind of government does too?

As a journalist, I don't like the idea of journalism outlets being sued. But this isn't journalism, it's libel. There's absolutely a reckless disregard for the truth happening here.

When @longlead.com produced LONG SHADOW: BREAKING THE INTERNET this year, we struggled with where to end the season. I love the final note @vermontgmg.bsky.social ended it on, but the fight over reality rages on, especially in Portland.

Home to nearly 22 million people, the Mexico City megapolis is literally sinking under the weight of its own ambition and growth. And as lakes dried up, reservoirs drained low, and taps ran dry, the people who rely on them are suffering by ingesting water that’s not fit for consumption.

In the @longlead.com feature THE LAST DROPS OF MEXICO CITY, Sessini paired up with journalist Rodrigo Cervantes to tell how this world capital, originally settled in the 1300s as an island in the middle of a lakes, has become the source of a relentless thirst.
