Red sky at morning #photography
The underside of a low layer of morning clouds glows red fading to purple from the still to rise sun, reflected in the water of Portage Bay. Boat sheds line the shoreline on the left and the buildings and their lighted windows shine from the University District. The yet to rise sun turns the underside of the morning cloud layer deep red to purple pink. The colors are reflected in the water of Salmon Bay, which fills the lower half of the frame. In the right frame middle distance are the fishing vessels of Seattle Fishermans terminal and left mid frame the low rise of the Fremont neighborhood is visible. The Ballard Bridge, just visible in the distance, divides the frame in half. A motion blurred cyclist zips through the frame on the opposite sidewalk across Fremont Bridge under the yellow glow of streetlamp as the cloudy morning sky turns red with the rising sun. The trussed form of the Aurora Bridge crosses the top of the frame over the just visible waters of north Lake Union while the lights of Eastlake twinkle in the background across the water.

In the foggy early morning dark, a two lane road with a yellow dashed center line runs in a gentle S-curve beyond the vanishing point thru a barren industrial area under streetlamps strung with power lines and suffused with a foggy glow. A chain link fence guarding an empty lot is just visible on the left and there is a For rent sign offering land on the opposite side of the road.

In the dark early morning, a mid-sized SUV sits in silhouette parked alongside an empty two-lane road, just on the edge of a pool of light cast by the nearby streetlight, which leaves everything outside of it in dark shadow. You can see the mist of falling rain caught under the light, and a yellow pedestrian crossing sign sits are the far right edge of the frame.

Oh well, Mariners. Not my team, but living here the excitement of the fans is a lot of fun. I didn't live in Chicago when the Cubs won, so I hope the Mariners win & I get to experience the second-hand thrill of it. That looks more like Supersonics green to me tho. Maybe my WB is off? #photography
The Seattle Space Needle seen from GasWork park in the dark early morning sky. It is lit up green, (I assume in honor of the Mariners even tho that looks like Supersonics green). In the foreground are three lampposts of increasing height from left to right, and telephoto compression makes the Space Needle look like it is in line with them as the tallest lamppost on the right. Two one liter plastic bottles with white caps labeled Suflave sit on a white countertop with a plastic 8oz up in between them. Suflave is a prep drink when you are getting a colonscopy that scours out your insides over the course of an evening. Or in this case, an evening and the middle of the night. An early morning scene at Seattle's Pike Place Public Market. Another lake behind me prevented moving far enough away before the sky lost its color to use a long enough lens so the almost Harvest moon Sunday night wouldn't look like a pinhead. Sigh. #photography #fujifilm

This is a semi-feral that lives around the Avalon hotel in St Petersburg, FL. The staff feed her, and the receptionist refers to her as "Baby". She's been there a couple years running now so we bring treats. We visit there every year for Thanksgiving w/my Mom since my dad died.

@greenwell.bsky.social's Bad Company isn’t exactly a beach read. In fact, as someone whose life was upended by private equity (RIP Mervyn’s) it was kind of a hate read, but not because the book is bad, (it is excellent, see below) but because PE is bad. So very, very bad. . . (long thread)

It took many months of judicious blocking of any account that is not animal related, but now whenever I accidentally scroll past the end up posts by people I follow, it is just mostly cat videos. This is what I see when I click the magnifying glass. It just goes on and on like this.

And when we got to Shadow lake 2 hours later, we were told we just missed by minutes this same pair taking an afternoon swim.
