@bsky.app I would like to delete this account, because I use @jrslv.bsky.social instead. But I never receive the e-mail with the security code on my pm.me e-mail address. I tried both the app and the web interface several times. Please advice?

Carbon capture and storage seems promising until somebody does the math. Currently, it's hard to view CCS as anything more than a greenwashed diversion from genuine climate action.
If the estimate is correct, it would take 14 billion tonnes of olivine to remove 10 billion tonnes of CO₂ from the atmosphere. This is a CO₂ removal (CDR) target for 2050.

We currently ship 11 billion tonnes of goods every year. Imagine shipping 14 billion tonnes of olivine on top of that.

"Unfortunately for anyone living on planet Earth, consensus from this year’s Davos meeting seems to be that any sense of climate urgency there once was has waned."

Climate change wasn't high on the list of priorities at Davos:
Davos Man No Longer Has Time for Climate Change
After taking something like center stage the past few years, climate slid down the agenda at the 2024 summit.

The cover design of this year's UN Emissions Gap Report is deservedly getting a huge amount of praise.

Last year's Gap Report cover, by the same designer Beverley McDonald, is also masterful, like a Magritte painting, but capturing exactly what is slipping away.
