This… absolutely this.
Pritzker: "One of the reasons Trump wants to send troops into cities is bc he wants to be able to take control of the 2026 elections...if they've got troops in cities, & it becomes a kind of norm for people, then it won't be abnormal for them when they're going to vote having troops at ballot boxes"

ICE’s tactics of kidnapping people off the street goes horribly wrong.

Silverio Villegas González was shot and killed after dropping his child off at school during an ICE operation, just outside Chicago. As more of the story unfolds, it appears ICE agents lied about the circumstances.

i honestly have never seen a political leader so thoroughly destroy their credibility so quickly and, on the other side, it is abundantly clear that if anyone can claim a genuine leadership of large parts of the democratic party, it is AOC.
Folks is it good when your own party's leadership in the House is dropping "listen to the women" and MLK quotes on you while swing state members of your caucus are talking about new leadership

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

Being a historian, people ask me if I think the US is living through Germany 1933.

I answer no, analogies are always imperfect but to me it feels more like Russia 1999: a blatant theft of state assets and liberals in a fugue state, refusing to believe the arc of progress is bending against them.

The did nothing. Stupid signs. Blank stares. Only one had an appropriate response and as soon as they removed him another should have taken up the fight. Then another, and another. They could have completely disrupted. But they’re going to fiddle while it burns.
They should have stood one at a time in vocal protest. As soon as one was removed… another stand. One by one. Disrupt and resist. By the time they got through 100 of them it would be the next day.
