Votes over polls. Apparently some polls suggest most voters support woke, liberal, left, progressive, welfare state thinking in which the welfare of US citizens is an objective. Oddly, they vote for a party that excoriates all those things and has no intention of pursuing anything like that. Odd.

well, looks like i’m staying home with a sick toddler today. i don’t have pto at this job, it’s just lost pay. and i hate that i’m even thinking about money when my baby is sick, but that’s the society we’ve built for ourselves, one where you have to choose: income, or caring for your sick child.
