I think that’s what happens when you become singularly great at one thing and one thing only, at the expense of everything else.

I remember reading a Time magazine article about him during the years he was playing in Edmonton, and the author strongly implied in the article that Gretzky was not the smartest person, even by pro athlete standards. He's given us no reason to think otherwise.

Marginal utility is the key economic concept that I wish more people understood.
If you give, say, someone with $1tn of net assets £1000 it will have less positive impact on him than if you give someone like me with let’s say £30,000 of net assets
