Fast Metrolink (which also translates to more frequent Metrolink where single-tracking doesn't constrain) would be such a virtuous circle.

And pleased that hybrid cat-bat suggested in the report. Has made sense to amateur me as a way to trade some efficiency for flexibility on the infra side.

Post a perfect album from 1989, a perfect music year indeed.

not particularly a plaza-knower but I think they’re common in Mexico and to a lesser extent in the US Southwest.

Here, (Old Town) San Diego was built around one. New Town SD (current downtown) also. Those have faded for varying reasons but we’re trying others. Not equal, but something.

Thanks -- I gave too much credit. (And/tho, that essay was pretty muddled.)

I do think the idea that by-right incremental (~'you can 3x the units anywhere, always') could build faster and better at regional scale is worth engaging. But local control is no way to do the politics/law.

My SoCal Regional HSR (or "higher speed rail") map. Yes, I know. Still!

Thanks @thijs.niks.nu

Thanks for this!

Alright, not best practice but the default model says this SoCal Regional HSR route is profitable at 22.0% and good for me, personally. Realistically the costs are higher than model (tho the route is inland).

Build it!

Broadway Busway #1 transit project imo, I don't get it

Was thinking of these. Probably not appropriate.

proposal: marry the 6 to the old 966 route, this would be useful to me personally (and good overall, I assert)

very stray thoughts

* non-zero TSLA hype also riding on the robot story. Honda (& others) has been an obvious counter & maybe this breaks through a bit.

* am in no way a space knower but aware that Japan has quietly been in the 2nd tier of space research & engineering, pleased to see.

* :)
