Call me Tommy.

Graphic designer stuck in the Florida panhandle, Tabletop gaming enthusiast, he/him, the good kind of weird
And it's important to remember everything he does and says is carefully crafted to infuriate you.

Upsetting people is part of his strategy. It helps him throw you off and gain the upper hand.

Hating him is a perfectly natural reaction.

Just on the atmosphere alone.

Also, it didn't feel like a tragedy when Ryuji died, but I felt bad for Noah.

Ryuji was a prick.

Hot take: This is far superior to "Ringu."

The guy drowns.

When his spirit arrives in Heaven, he's a little upset God didn't save him.

"Lord," he calls up to the golden throne. "Why didn't you save me."

"I sent two boats and a chopper!" God calls back, exasperated.

"The Lord will save me."

The water rises. The guy is standing on his chimney. A helicopter comes flying over. A ladder drops down. The guy refuses to grab it. "The Lord will save me!"

The chopper flies off to rescue someone else. The water rises, the guy gets swept away in the current.

Reminds me of the old joke about the guy trapped on his roof in a flood. He prays for God to save him.

A rowboat comes by and the occupant offers a ride. The guy refuses. "The Lord will save me."

The water rises.

A powerboat comes by. The people inside beg him to hop in. He refuses.

I saw them craning their necks around trying to figure out what the Hell was going on.

Everything eventually fell quiet.

Then a soft confused voice asked, "He's gonna WHAT?"

"He's going to break one of its wings, stick it on his dick and watch it spin around."

The people around him, including my friends & I erupt in laughter.

I was laughing so hard, I was crying. I blinked and looked out over the audience. They hadn't hear what caused the laughter.

"What's he doing with that goose?" whispers the guy.

I hear rustling to my left and look to see a guy has gotten up, turned around, knelt in his seat and is leaning over the back of it towards the guy asking questions.

In a low calm voice, he says. . .

They were answering his questions through gritted teeth and telling him to be quiet, but he just kept going.

Anyway, there was this really tense scene where a wolf is sighted in the woods outside the village and all the men go out to hunt and kill it.

One guy brings a live goose for bait.

Unfortunately, the group of late teens/20-somethings behind us had a guy who absolutely should NOT have been there.

He wasn't following anything and was constantly asking questions.

"Why is it olden times? Wasn't that guy driving a car before?"

His friends were getting frustrated, too.

It also explores the use of the fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood" as an allegory for sexual awakening.

And it touches on how we tend to mix lust, sex and violence.

The movie is an extended dream sequence full of surreal imagery, dream logic and magical realism.

My friends & I loved it.

In America, they handled the marketing wrong. The trailer made it look like a bog-standard werewolf movie.

In reality, it was based on a long short story by feminist icon Angela Carter who also did the screenplay.

The story is an exploration of the wolf as a metaphor for primal desires.

This was about 1983/1984. I was around 13-14 years old. My friends & I would get dropped off at the mall, go to the multiplex, buy tickets for an age-approprate movie then sneak into the movie we really wanted to see.

The movie we really wanted to see that day was "The Company of Wolves."

They're going to have to bury him in secret so his grave won't get violated.

This could end tomorrow if the GOP just stopped shielding him from consequences.

He would be impeached and removed from office.

His cronies would be sent running for the hills.

I hate how much he makes me hate him. It makes me feel infected or poisoned.

He has made me a worse person and I hate him all the more for that.
