I think the thing I might be most excited about is getting to boo Kevin Patullo in person, rather than from my living room.

Today my boss caught me in the hall & asked where I was headed for the weekend. Then told a story about how he attended a Phillies game & was shocked by how much the fans booed their own team when the pitcher had a rough 2nd inning. Of course, I said, they gotta know when they need to do better.

Yes. Nose bleeds, where I belong.

Excited to return to the motherland for a weekend and heckle out of towners

Not sure I can look as good as Snoopy at this age.

If anyone’s wondering, Artemis II and III work will continue apace.

Catching up on season 3 of Apple’s Invasion. Continues to be a pioneer in the genre of alien invasion shows that do not feature aliens. The best thing about this show is the title theme.

Another Rocky Mountain National Park shot for this #stunday. Group of elk lounging about with Long’s Peak in the distance. This caused a major elk jam on Trail Ridge Road that day.

My oldest went to a play in London for which she made the promo art, my middle daughter marched with the Eno River rugby team in a pride parade in NC, and my youngest went to Homecoming with her best friends. The kids are alright.

I drove for over 24 hours straight to go less than 300 miles with a 9 month old baby in the car. It was awful and changed how/when we would decide to evacuate from a hurricane.

Good overview of the mission and the challenges the team has/is working with a good summary of the heat shield issues the team worked through.

Meet Artemis II: the first mission to send humans around the moon since 1972. I’ll be covering this mission for National Geographic, so you’ll be seeing a lot from me about it, but here’s the first:

NASA's Artemis II ushers in a new era of human exploration
NASA's Artemis II mission could happen as early as February. Here's why this flight will be one to watch.

Today’s #dtunday contribution is Castle Dunnottar on a cold, late afternoon in Scotland. Just an amazing place to visit and hard to find a spot to capture it.

Another from that trip to the Redwoods. #Forestfriday

For #ForestFriday, a ten year old shot from out in the Redwoods. We spent forever trying to find these albino redwoods and I almost gave up. Glad I didn’t, because we’ve never seen anything else like it.

When the mission is done, I want to find an empty beach, sit on the sand, stare at the sunset, and listen to nothing but waves crashing on the shore while I drink the coldest beer I can find.

In the span of 5 calendar days, I supported Orion assembly at the Launch Abort System Facility at KSC, presented for 3 hours on our readiness to human rate Orion, kicked off our internal Artemis II flight readiness review process, and was MER manager for a full shift in a long sim.

A man in Washington, DC, plays the Imperial March from Star Wars while following patrolling soldiers. One of the soldiers threatens to call the police.
