#NASAWebb has found the first direct evidence of potential moon formation around a giant exoplanet. The discovery is shedding light on how such systems evolve and why moons could be potentially habitable worlds: https://bit.ly/46xGodN 🔭 🧪
An illustration of a young planet with a surrounding disk of dust and gas potentially forming moons. The planet, which appears dark red, is shown at lower right, circled by a cloudy, clumpy reddish orange-colored disk. The host star appears at upper left, and glows yellow, with its own reddish disk of debris. The disk that surrounds the planet takes up about half the illustration. The black background of space is speckled with stars. At the bottom of the illustration, graphics of molecules are listed in the following order: Acetylene, Carbon Dioxide, Ethane, Benzene, Hydrogen cyanide. The words Artist’s Concept appear at upper right.

Jamie’s track record for designing superhero costumes speaks for itself. He’s amazing!!

Haven't done any pure design work in a while, I wouldn't mind doing some more!

At Marvel I designed/redesigned a ton of characters, including Captain Marvel, Ms Marvel, most of the Young Avengers like Wiccan and America Chavez, and Loki. Most of these characters are wearing my costumes or variations on them a decade later, and are the basis for their live action counterparts.

He asked why it was on display at NASA. I explained that it’s so important to remember these tragedies and learn from them so they never happen again.

“But mama, why are there holes in it?”

So we had a discussion about Apollo 1, Challenger, and Columbia, and how NASA has this on display (it’s from testing after the Columbia disaster, when they didn’t think foam could put a hole in reinforced carbon-carbon).

I was going through my pictures from the Artemis II press event with my 6 year old (we do this for every space-related business trip I go on) and we got to this picture, and he asked what it was. I explained it’s the leading edge of a Space Shuttle wing (and what that means.)

Some good news from space, as the NASA-ISRO NISAR mission publishes its first synthetic aperture radar images of Earth. This spacecraft has a heckin' big antenna (a dish 12 meters across) for bouncing L- and S-band (25- and 10-cm) radio waves off the surface www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/nasa-is...
NASA-ISRO Satellite Sends First Radar Images of Earth’s Surface
Preliminary images from the most powerful Earth radar satellite ever launched offer a tantalizing glimpse of the science the mission will be able to deliver.
