The impression I get is that this came in very hot. I don't think they're committing to a 60fps mode but they didn't have much time to optimize for S2 so they played it safe and intend to revisit it to see what's possible later on. They have a good track record for Nintendo ports so I'm optimistic.

Pikmin is a post apocalyptic game. This is established canon. Whatever "Close to You" is a teaser for is clearly the Halo Reach or Rogue One of Pikmin.

Real talk, I assume this exists as a thing that can be shown to shareholders/investors to show how capable Nintendo is as a growing multimedia company of producing this type of work internally rather than continuously licensing it out to Illumination etc.

It's kinda wild playing some of Panic Button's impossible ports they did with Bethesda on a Switch 2. The variable resolution hits its cap 100% of the time and while that's still pretty low it's crazy to see what was generally a 360p game hitting 720p at a locked 30fps without any update.

It's wild that the primary difference between DS and N64 graphics is just texture filtering. Here is the N64 model of Tricky from Diddy Kong Racing with and without filtering VS the same on DS. (source: models.spriters-resource.com)

I maintain that while this isn't the best adaptation of the source material, in isolation it's a pretty good show. Season 2 especially felt like they were trying to find a lore middle ground, so I was disappointed when it was cancelled. Felt like it was getting somewhere.

Yeah we're here but we're not feeling great :P

Despite currently being a horribly run company their recent game output has been oddly good (seemingly accidentally). Avowed, Indiana Jones, South of Midnight, Oblivion. But at this point I think most of us aren't feeling optimistic for the future.

Just realized Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac has a reversible cover with a recreation of the OG art on the back. Everyone else probably already knew this but it was exciting for me.
