Game dev and tinkerer farting around at life from Copenhagen. I specialise in game accessibility and diving into hobbies.

Autistic & ADHD, it’s not personal if there aren’t tone tags and I didn’t get it.
I get that! At least there’s always the ability to “share the pad”. Had a lot of great multiplayer experiences that way tbh.

What was the innovation that won them the award?

I’m not sure about social services, but I’ve found that people in general are really resistive to written information when what they want is the ability to adapt in real time, or they don’t know.

Both are things they could say, but seem scared to express.

There’s no such thing as a single accessible solution, because different people have different needs

While we’re at it, bring back camera perspective being an option

I just think they should be optional modes, not the entire focus of the game. They shouldn’t be required to be able to play

Games always want to support multiple play styles, after all

Wouldn’t it be great if you could choose, though?

That only works when everyone else is treating it as that - when the world becomes a stage for speedrun towards “endgame”, it no longer serves a purpose to inhabit that world

Even to the point where even being flexible enough to consider an alternative system that would allow more flexibility is an impossibility

Did they not watch Sesame Street 🤣 too true. I keep feeling like “this was everywhere. You couldn’t avoid it. How could you not learn this?”

All they had to do was say they couldn’t help with lifting the scooter (probably a liability thing), are you ok with some alternative?

Just. Cancelling it on you unilaterally? Awful behaviour, sorry that happened

“But people don’t want those ugly things they don’t need”

Yo if you don’t see the beauty in someone being able to access their home, then I don’t know how to help you. Your world must be so drab. If you buy a place with a ramp, you just expanded your friendship pool. How’s that an ugly world?

That’s pretty much the mechanism of white supremacy. People are always like, but why do you care? And I’m like???? Cause we’re next. It’s always someone else.

Funnily enough, “communication is a two way street” was always used to describe why I was wrong, not why the “other guy” also needed to try harder

Hate is hate, it’s not enough to stand by and allow for hate not directed at us, we must not tolerate hate towards anyone.

From elsewhere in the thread: they’ve done one and decided it’s a price they’re willing to pay

“Justify” is so much to say 😂

There are a lot of people who will happily suffer for a cause they consider just
December 10, 2025 at 2:15 PM
The decision to use it was at least partially because it’s far more readable to more people on screens.

Of course, the point in official communications isn’t for many people to get them, it’s to look official. I’m sure you can see why it’s a DEI frivolity to favour inclusion over looking good.
