I suppose the lottery idea is never used in Regency books as it removes the aspect of choice (that the gentleman chooses a dance partner), but the Rules of Country Dance are rocking my world right now and you best believe I am gonna use the hell out of this bit.

This is a dismal take on Americans. These sorts of polls don’t account for 25 yrs of broadcast propaganda (Fox and now right wing SM) casting Democrats as evil and progressive issues as stupid. Progressive candidates do win when their message cuts through the media fog.
