I love color and texture, working primarily as a textile artist with embroidery and quilting.
I love the fruit!

It's great! Maybe you can outline the last word with dark thread to make it stand out more? Just a thought

Maybe you can think of it as a moment-to-moment choice? For example, I can choose to pause and notice something good - like a tasty meal, someone's smile or laugh, a beautiful cloud in the sky. Little things can help us hold on to our human-ness.

I agree, and would add local art center or gallery to your list.

I don't know if she really said that to him or not, but I hope both of them will think twice before using that phrase again. (I've worked with a lot of kids over the years and I am so tired of hearing it!!)

I ignore her, keep looking at him. Mind you, I'm an older straight woman, but my very short hair & clothes might have made her think otherwise. He didn't answer my question or apologize, but he did pause a moment. Then the 3 of us discussed the shoes - he was a funny kid and it was light banter.

All the time. Other people's patterns are no fun. Nice moth!

Maybe you could sew other fabrics to the block edges and then square them up, hence preserving the original while making larger blocks. Just a thought.

Quoting a friend whose kid transitioned a few years ago: I could mourn a dead daughter, or I can love my living son. Seems like an easy choice.
