Pacific Elders Voice: "As a member of the [Pacific Islands] Forum, Australia’s actions are in sharp contradiction to its platitudes around caring for the Pacific ‘family.’ The Woodside project is a demonstration of Australia’s glaring disconnect between rhetoric and action."

More than ten years worth of Australia’s emissions in a single facility for export. There is nothing that the Labor party could do this term - or ever - that could bring it back from the impact of this decision for climate harms.

Absolutely evil.

My chapter, with Prof Vivien Holmes, on the legal profession and climate change is now live as part of @juliadehm.bsky.social et al's new textbook, Becoming a Climate Conscious Lawyer: Climate Change and the Australian Legal System at www.latrobe.edu.au/library/open..., here's a short taster...
Extract from chapter advancing arguments that lawyers have an obligation to address climate change in their work by virtue of their special social role and ethical commitments to values of 'justice, truth and fairness'.
