Multiple sources tell me that the USDA's Food & Nutrition Services division cancelled research contracts today. One contract was related to school meals.
The contract was to study program participation, meal counting, financial management, and program integrity (so...detecting fraud)

In other interesting legislation, House will consider a rule today that would allow for changes to the Congressional Review Act. H.R. 77 would let Congress pass a CRA resolution on more than one rule at a time if rules were submitted during the last year of the President's term.

I know lots of folks are talking about HR 899 to abolish the Dept. of Ed., but we should take HR 369 seriously since it offers a more realistic path to dismantling the agency over an 8-year period through (1) block grants and (2) transferring existing authorities www.congress.gov/bill/119th-c...

As this "pause" hits you and your project, institution, workplace, etc:

TELL SOMEONE ABOUT IT.

Contact your MoC, esp if they're a Dem. Contact a relevant advocacy group. Contact the press, local, regional, movement, trade - and not just for an LtE, for a story.

Tell real life stories of harm.
