Engineer. Cyclist. Music lover. Director of FromeFM and presenter of the Rebellious Jukebox programme. Joined up here in an attempt to rekindle my interest in informing the World what I get up on a daily basis, for no apparent reason.
It’s that time of year again when I can’t play any records by rock artists with names beginning with the letters M, N, O or P.

The South of Bucks Winter Warmer’ @audaxuk.bsky.social today. Wouldn’t rush to do this one again: too much traffic and too many angry drivers. Reminded me of some of the reasons why I moved to Somerset.

Staying at my sister’s so I’m closer to the start of the 200k @audaxuk.bsky.social ride that I’m cycling tomorrow. Currently the weather outside is appalling. Still; preparation is going well.

Thinking of opening next week’s radio show with the opening track. Trouble is it requires a prerequisite of two to three pints and a glass of wine to fully appreciate it.

This record is utterly brilliant but I can only describe listening to it as something akin to doing half a dozen rounds against Mike Tyson… or whoever the modern day equivalent boxer is.

Cycling rabble.

This is me in 1984 at Romford skatepark in Essex. We travelled there from Chesham to see BMX freestyle inventor Bob Haro who was over from the US. There were rain showers all day so the concrete was very slippery.

I may never sleep again but it will be worth it.

Checking out the #Longleat #FestivalOfLight on last night’s #ProntoBikes night ride. We were soon moved on…

Mr Pickwick’s Cymraeg Cyrch 210km @audaxuk.bsky.social today, organiser : Black Sheep Audax. Tewkesbury to Talybont on Usk. 2200m elevation. 3 rain showers. Good checkpoints. Elapsed time 10hrs 35. Off road section at Symonds Yat was fun on the way out but a bone rattling ballsache on the return.

Better… although if Hendrix had not gone before…

Hadn’t played this for thirty years or more. It’s better than I remember… a bit. A budget release: they could have at least bothered to get the picture the right way round.

Spent ninety minutes and £3 at the #CheeseAndGrain record fair yesterday.

Not too upset that today’s #ProntoBikes ride to Portland Bill was cancelled due to the weather forecast. Enjoyed a damp jaunt to Wincanton with a reduced #FromeCTC crew instead.

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is fifty years old but that doesn’t make it any better.

Really enjoyed the Fear of the Fear of the Dark @audaxuk.bsky.social yesterday. 217km. One small rain shower. Organised by Caroline and Adam with an Iron Maiden theme. Even received a gift of Trooper ale at the end.

My good mate David, who rode an 87 mile ride to celebrate his 87th birthday this week. He was a pro rider in the British team for a short time in the 50s #Normandy.
