Staying at my sister’s so I’m closer to the start of the 200k @audaxuk.bsky.social ride that I’m cycling tomorrow. Currently the weather outside is appalling. Still; preparation is going well.

In other news, in an attempt to combat persistent shoulder pain I have moved by bicycle saddle rearward by 2.5mm. Now in a state of abject turmoil trying to decide if overall it’s better or worse. You non-cyclists just don’t know how lucky you are.

This record is utterly brilliant but I can only describe listening to it as something akin to doing half a dozen rounds against Mike Tyson… or whoever the modern day equivalent boxer is.

This is me in 1984 at Romford skatepark in Essex. We travelled there from Chesham to see BMX freestyle inventor Bob Haro who was over from the US. There were rain showers all day so the concrete was very slippery.

Mr Pickwick’s Cymraeg Cyrch 210km @audaxuk.bsky.social today, organiser : Black Sheep Audax. Tewkesbury to Talybont on Usk. 2200m elevation. 3 rain showers. Good checkpoints. Elapsed time 10hrs 35. Off road section at Symonds Yat was fun on the way out but a bone rattling ballsache on the return.
