AI coding agents accelerate code creation. It doesn’t accelerate organisations.

How do you get started with agents in your business? I answer this with a super in-depth deep dive, step by step.

The cover of my upcoming book on Vibe Coding. What do you think?

Ah I have a sibling version of that.

This is all I can see on mobile

When using AI coding agents, for effective results, I'm finding there is always going to be a decison to be made:

"when do I change gears from "black box prompting" (nontechnical, directional, outcome-based) to "white box prompting" (technical, tactical, focused)".

Familiar?

I’m working on a project called “AskAI”. I probably only need £50k to take it to market. But REALLY need askai.com for to be legit so I’m doing a raise for £4,050,000 wish me luck!

Feeling pretty Admiral-ish right now

My robot vacuum cleaner knocked over a tyre that was leaning against the wall this morning. I call this art installation “brexit”.

If this is your most valuable call to action, make it front and centre rather than the newsletter signup you have currently (on mobile this consultation link is hidden in the drop down).

Testimonials will increase trust too.

Consider a presales chatbot to warm up cold leads too.

Don’t you need to offer a service people can pay for to do that? 🤔
February 2, 2025 at 5:08 PM
Ah thanks yeah it's only available with the '.tgz' option
February 1, 2025 at 8:31 AM
Oh thank you very much, that was very kind to take the time to share that fairly obvious place for them 😂 🙏

It's nice Google offers a way to download your data but I'm not sure a week is enough to download… 884 x 2GB files… 🤯

Google AI studio has a “LearnLM” mode to play the role of a tutor. This is a very exciting way to use AI to learn.

I asked Deepseek Chat, a free China-based competitor to ChatGPT, to “Pick a number between 1 to be 10000. Overthink it.” Hilarity ensues.

You’re right. I think I found peace at last.

Found the answer: fascinating “old school DALL-E 3“ available with Microsoft copilot or or ChatGPT actually does a pretty good job. Lots of later generation tools seem to be obsessing with hyperrealism at the expense of creativity

Difficulties? Oh MAN am I lazy…

Trick 2: I just asked it to document a maintenance guide and self-reflect using my wrap-up instruction (see gist) 🤣
January 1, 2025 at 5:59 PM
Once I had those two pieces, I gave these instructions. It was surprisingly difficult to bring the two pieces together. I basically kept saying "you have video => grid of colours and grid of colours => voronoi just figure it out please" and eventually after a few goes it did :)
January 1, 2025 at 5:59 PM
Next piece: live video + downsampling test. Initial attempts to pointing a low-res version of the video feed to the voronoi piece didn't work so I made an interim step, demonstrating that a) video worked and b) I could downsample in real time.
January 1, 2025 at 5:59 PM
Trick 1: decomposition and test pages!

I created a test page just for the voronoi functionality. I've found that if you create standalone test pages for individual pieces it's easier to debug.

If you want a blow-by-blow account of using

I present: Voronoi Cam. voronoi.replit.app
See the world through voronoi tiles!
Watch it pulses in time with sounds around you…

It cost me $9.25 (of $50 autorefresh credits) 🧵
