Robert Jenrick called it “as close as I’ve come to a slum” and complained he “didn’t see another white face.”

This is white-supremacist thinking dressed up as “legitimate concerns”.

I grew up in Lozells, just a stone’s throw from Handsworth — where much of my family still live and where I went for sixth form. It’s a proud, diverse, working-class community.

The political and media establishment normalises this racism, but we won’t stay silent. We stand with all our communities and against the far-right.

In 2015, polls showed the EU to be 10th most important issue for voters. Then media platforming of Farage etc changed that.

At the last election, things like the NHS & economy were biggest issue. But media platforming of Reform has apparently pushed immigration up there.

I think a lot of people have changed their minds about what the problems are that the country faces. I used to be much more lib dem / labour, and simply decided that the evidence was in and I was wrong. Just a perspective...
