Simon and Garfunkel aka Pierre and Tilda, staring at the recent snowfall, wishing it would go away. (Pierre still goes outside to survey periodically throughout the day.)

Tonight’s Giallo Cinema: THE CASE OF THE BLOODY IRIS (1972), starring my favourite giallo actress (with apologies to Carroll Baker). Kudos to Celluloid Dreams for an outstanding 4K release!

Okay, now it’s time for THE RED QUEEN KILLS SEVEN TIMES—I’ve even adjusted the living room lights to be red.

I just found out that there was a proposed CFL team for Florida, the Miami Manatees! 😯

I’ve had the privilege to have watched Saskatchewan in six Grey Cup appearances over the years, from “The Kick” of 1989, the 2007 victory (their first since ‘89), the sting of the “13th Man” penalty that cost them the victory in 2009, to winning at home in Regina in 2013. Good luck today!

Happy Caturday from Pierre and Tilda!

Sometimes poor decisions are made when one is high, such as ordering McDonalds’ Crispy Chicken Ranch McPoutine. Non merci.

The Wendigo and Other Stories by Algernon Blackwood and The Tomb of Dracula Omnibus vol. 1! (Still in October mode. 🎃)

I’ve never had an Almond Joy, but I’ve heard it’s similar to our Bounty bars! (Now I wish I had Bounty bars to give out instead of Coffee Crisps and Aeros.)

The world is (still) going to hell, so Pierre and Tilda are here to cleanse the doomscrolling!

If you see this, post a Dark Horse cover you love.

I took a break from social media for my sanity. Tilda and Pierre coordinated to boost my mental health!

At least I got to sample some delicious local craft beer before the football game.

Greetings from the Queen City! My dad and I flew in today from Calgary to attend our first football game at Mosaic Stadium. Unfortunately, the Saskatchewan Roughriders got beaten up 48-31 by the Montréal Alouettes. My lifetime record seeing the Riders live is now a very sad 1-25. 😂

Happy 59th birthday to the greatest science fiction TV series of them all, STAR TREK! No colons, just pure original 1960s Trek! 😎🖖

I made room for volume 8 on the giallo shelf (which is now full—I need another shelf)!

Pierre gets a lot of the spotlight, mostly because Tilda is shy about having her photo taken. Our grey princess graciously allowed me to snap some pics this week!

I’ve been revisiting BROOKLYN NINE-NINE and Andre Braugher’s acting is so freaking brilliant—we already knew he could do drama, but his comedic timing here is simply brilliant. I’m laughing my ass off, but I’m also sad
knowing we lost his incredible talents to cancer. I

Though he and Tilda were well pampered by our spectacular cat sitter, my boy Pierre missed me greatly—he’s been very chirpy (more than usual) and very affectionate!

As someone who was in Portmeirion last week, I can fully confirm this! (I do know what you meant though 😉)

We didn’t want to come back to Calgary, but these crittles made it easier.

Last night’s memorable three-course meal at Hotel Portmeirion’s restaurant: The finest Welsh ingredients!
August 8, 2025 at 8:10 AM
I dropped quite a bit of money at the Prisoner shop (despite the shopkeeper mistaking me for an American, which I quickly—and politely—corrected 😆), but the Oasis swag purchases at the Adidas store and Wembley Stadium still reign supreme!
August 8, 2025 at 8:06 AM
Our three days in Portmeirion went by quickly, but they were restful and sorely needed: Lush, verdant foliage, sumptuous meals highlighting the local ingredients (Welsh lamb is second to none), and friendly, pleasant staff and guests. Be seeing you, Wales!
