"Peek-A-Boo" - Photographed September 20, 2025, in Palmyra, Virginia. 📷
I looked out my back door and saw this deer in my backyard. Grabbed the camera and slowly opened the door onto the deck. The deer was watching me, watching him. Took a couple of pictures and went back inside. He went about his business of eating the weeds. Win / Win!!!!

My poem Boulder from my pamphlet Journey Through the Fire, only 5 copies left 😯 Being up and close to them in Norway was something else. Felt very small.

Don't you love how you can immediately hear a kid's voice in @jumpingjulespoetry.bsky.social's poem "Catch"?

Inspired by @kimwnolan.bsky.social's illustration 51st Street

in Little Thoughts Press Issue 10: An Ekphrasis Adventure, available in print & pdf.

Illustration by Kim Wagner Nolan of keys attached to a parachute floating down from where a kid dropped them from a fire escape. Accompanying the illustration is part of the poem "Catch" by Julie Stevens.
