As a guitarist I think solos are a fine tool but I'm way more interested in cool textures, sounds, and effective leads rather than solos. Which is kinda funny because the new record has a long one. But anyway.

This started because we were sort've hitting on it and when it came time to solo both me and the other guitarist stopped playing and vocally scatted the solo instead, which was funny.

I think this is my first solo I've ever tried to memorize? It's just Dmaj I think? D something. Anyway it's fun.

Had band practice tonight, shook off some rust running through set and doing some jams - accidentally stumbled into Jimmy Eat World.

That solo from Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle" IS incredibly fun to play...Woodshed the hell out of it and surprise band on Monday is the play, I think.
