U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents murdered 37-year-old U.S. citizen Alex Pretti today in Minneapolis. This is the third U.S. citizen ICE has killed this year. ICE and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) are loyal agents of Nazis and white supremacists within the Republican Party. They are behaving as enemies both of the Constitution and of the American people and they must be treated as such. The United States is at a crossroads: Either the American people are able to wrest power from the current fascist leaders or those leaders will continue to radicalize, using violence and terror to dismantle democracy and commit even greater mass atrocities. History is clear about this. The American people are currently fighting alone in their battle for freedom and liberty. The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention admires their courage and expresses solidarity. I went to an exhibition by the sculptor Kate MccGwire at Lakeside Arts in Nottingham. She uses ethically sourced feathers to make the most amazing artwork. This is using pheasant feathers. My photo doesn't do it justice.

Fond memories of all these beaches, particularly Runswick Bay, which is a gem. Spurn is wild and not really a pleasure beach. I have a lovely art photograph of the groynes at Spurn. It hangs above my desk and reminds me of growing up in Hull.
