Afaik, ICE kidnapped people without identifying themselves and masked. Who prevents (other) bad guys then from simply raiding someone’s home, kidnapping and stealing? From afar (Europe) this looks really bad… And I feel really sorry for the family!

Its weird but most of the stories I read of citizens being detained, were lawyers. Like theyre being detained just to gain access to their electronic devices, that they otheteise wouldnt have access to.

All the people coming back into the country with a US passport, which is a card stamped citizen but keep getting detained and questioned are plenty of proof that wouldn’t work.

The other day, Matt Yglesias argued that carrying around a card stamped with "citizen" would protect you from arbitrary detentions by the federal immigration gestapo. It doesn't even protect you in your own home!

Things that will get you blocked:

- saying that ppl in Oklahoma deserve this
- saying some version of "why are you surprised by this"

I think you misunderstand what I’m saying. I’m saying what Trump did is worse than deporting because those kids belong to the US and therefore “deporting” is the wrong word. It would be more effective to use the correct words because they show the true horror of what Trump did.

Stop saying deported. US citizens are not deported. They’re thrown out or trafficked!
