Alright, enough of these games. It's high time I begun inflicting you all with my OC's... starting with one Captain Shank, of the NYC Sewer Coast Guard. Meanest quarter-shark-mermaid you'll ever meet.

Here's a (close-to-done!) WIP comic of her getting VERY angry at someone. I call it: "AnglerBitch"
A comic in three non-paneled strips of a scene. A nondescript humanoid figure is anxiously crouched down hiding behind a car, sweating bullets as he clings to his gun for dear life. Across the street, besides and beneath a streetlight (a 17' TBTA pole, w/shielded teardrop luminaire) stands an imposingly large woman with an eyepatch over her right eye; Captain Shank. She seethes with a boiling hateful fury as she clutches her fists for sheer death. In the first strip of the sequence, Shanky turns and stomps over to the base of the light pole, still glaring Doom towards her foe. (Each step is SFX'd with a "KTOOM!" of increasing size and thickness.) In the second, she rears her left arm back and drives a punch into the bottom of the pole. Everything above the point of impact begins violently flailing in a wobble back and forth. The figure in hiding snaps to attention as their eyes narrow to beads, and they cautious turn to peek over the hood of the car. (SFX present: the punch leaves a trailing "vwwuuUUOOOOOOOOOSH"; the impact itself, "kXYANMCK!!!!!!!!"; both the pole itself and a waving trail through the scene emanate a series of "v"s) In the third strip, the car and figure are not visible, as the scene is entirely taken up by two instances of Cpt. Shank (both from behind): first her leaning in over her left knee as she catches the pole mid-wobble, grabbing from above the hole she punched; then second, as she rears back with tremendous force and rips the pole from its base entirely. (SFX: Shank's hands make a "kp!" and "pTnk!" respectively when grabbing; the pole's tearing and subsequent swooping through the air combine into "wWRAKTCHWVWUUUUOOOOOOOOOHN") A full-page image, continuing from the previous scene; Shank is bathed in light from one side as she slams her left leg down to face her prey. She wields the light pole like a colossal weapon, grabbing it from its new base, frontmost hand gripped over the top side and rearmost hand holding from underneath. Her shoulders are clenched up, half-covering her face. The eyepatch has somehow moved to cover the left eye, revealing the right eye, now wide enough with spite to see the red of her veins and tear ducts, as well as the red of the thin irises flanking her slit-pupil. She grits her fang-teeth in an inhumanly wide scowl, showing most of her top row of gums along with it. The bulb of the streetlight occupies the other end of the pole, being dragged along the ground as it casts its shine over the scene. It casts a heavy shadow where the shield of the lamp meets ground, and a softer shadow is carved from where Shank's feet are planted (or have just landed), and the half of Shanky which remains unilluminated leaks streaks of shade into the scatter of light behind her. The victim in the corner is petrified with dread and terror. [Do not cry for them; they had it coming. —Ed.]

A terrible 4 panel comic. Panel 1, a sketched woman stands alone, cracking her knuckles, saying: "4 panels and a dream. no thoughts. just art. ALL TERRIBLE. Let's do this." Panel 2, the woman bears a smug expression, and says: "besides... heh... who needs a punchline when you can draw smug faces-" but is cut off by a purple figure stepping into frame, saying "yo check out my Ourple!" Panel 3, woman blankly stares at purple, who stands there delightfully clasping its hands as it emits purple sparkles. Panel 4, woman is now purple as well, and both figures stand cheerfully and sparkling. At the bottom, a caption reads, "author's note: * (a purple sparkle) were actually contagious spores" There is no moral to this tragedy. Just senseless purple.

Hmm... I feel kinda funny tonight, for some reason...
A block of text looms over an inkblot, who stops its doodling to examine the floating omen. The block is white text on a black background with a blue border, reading: "WHAT A HORRIBLE NIGHT TO HAVE A CURSE." (taken from Castlevania 2) The inkblot (my artsona) wears a loose red button-down shirt, has translucent globs for "hair", and is otherwise entirely a pile of black goop. It has one arm reached forwards, sticking onto the open page of a sketchbook. It leans its head back to look up, and utters "Whuzzat?" A large pink mushroom cloud explosion, with a red outline and flecks of blue. The blast is accompanied by some onomatopoeia; "honk-KABOOM!!!!!!!!!!" (The honk and exclamation points are outside the blast, while the KABOOM occupies the rounded upper portion of the cloud. Where once there was an inkblot, now sits a clown; still the same person (me), with a different face. The clown wears a blue shirt with white and red patterns, and a tiny purple cone hat. Her hair is red, long and curly; her lips are blue, as are her eyebrows; its eyes are classic rubberhose-pacman-dots; its cheeks are adorned with red-and-blue spirals; and of course, she has a big red nose. Her hand is still outstretched onto the page. She muses aloud: "Oh yeeeeaaahh...", and mutters without a speech bubble: "how'd I forget about that?" A romantic scene between Pepper A. Stardropp and Captain Shank. Pepper is a plump woman wearing a delightedly cheery expression, with "leather" (licorice) boots and gloves, a bowler hat, and a meandering plume of frosting hair. She stands on a fire escape, 3 floors above ground level. (So, the 4th floor.) On the ground, Shanky waits perfectly still below her; the Captain is large, nearly double Pepper's size, with a frumpy bulk of coat layered over her hunched form— which is still tall enough to put her eyeline next to the first tier of the fire escape. She has an eyepatch over one eye, a beanie plopped over her ratty nest of hair, and an underbite displaying a row of her pointed shark-teeth. Pepper is perched in a dancerly pose, one leg kicking up behind her in glee, as she releases her grip and sends an anvil plummeting down. A round heart floats out from her, signaling the love which with she acts. The anvil is mid-flight, set to land squarely upon Shank's head. She looks up at her boss, not caring a bit about the imminent concussion, and can't help but emit a little heart of her own (though hers is much more jagged and angular than Pepper's). Her expression and posture are slack in gormless admiration, and she bears a wide grin and a sighing gaze. She hardly sees the anvil at all. All she cares about seeing right now is the joy on Pepper's face.

finished grim fandango on friday. you can probably guess who my favorite was
a variety of grim fandango sketches. one of glottis standing scratching his head, one of him playing a too-small-for-him piano, and two headshots: one of him pogging and one of him looking upwards with his ears twitching. there are also three drawings of manuel calavera. one of just his head, one of him lounging with special focus drawn to his big butt, and one with him wearing a shirt that says "BONE MACHINE", except defaced by domino by sharpie-ing an R at the end of BONE. manny has a text bubble that says "pinche domino".
