Spelling out loud in English is a weird case. I feel like I’m reading the word too to get the right letters, but it’s not visible.

In Finnish it’s just the sounds, probably because the letters actually map into corresponding sounds systematically.

Thinking about what to write words connect to the sounds and triggers subvocalizing them. If I think about the meaning of a word it becomes the abstract concept space behind it and a cloud of associations around it. With pictures included.

No font unless I explicitly think about a specific text.

Sad to see this kind of pressure on such an obviously creative field. It's more understandable but equally destructive in more abstract knowledge work. 'Commercial reality' means 'utter madness' in most cases.
