If one is ambivalent, why would they cheer loudly, and equally as loud for the next speaker when they deny what the 1st speaker said? That’s the cult part of my question. When one both cheers for A and not A, does that show they are blindly following anything the latter person says (cult)?

My thoughts: LLMs are very useful for a limited range of use cases. They are deceptively marketed and only apparently useful in the majority of applications in which they are currently deployed. In many of these applications, they are apt to have catastrophic negative repercussions.

There are a lot of critiques of LLMs that I agree with but "they suck and aren't useful" doesn't really hold water.

I understand people not using them because of social, economic, and environmental concerns. And I also understand people using them because they can be very useful.
