Will this improve the slow start to the season’s snowpack?

bsky.app/profile/joeb...
12/1 PNW snowpack update -- not good.

Forecast: mild and wet for the first 10 days of December, so these anomalies will get worse in the short term.

The silver lining: it only takes one good storm cycle to get back to normal in the early season.

Yea the Perplexity link I posted as an earlier reply suggests as much it was a regression. Not sure where the mention of interference originated from in the original reports.

Most of the planes can be patched in 3 hours with a software update, I think they are moving quickly to apply updates. About 900 will remain grounded until new computers can be installed

The 1980 eruption of Mt St Helens released 1 million to 1.5 million metric tons of sulfur dioxide (SO₂), so this is 1-2 order of magnitude smaller

Article is paywalled, the only unanswered question I have is did they test the ostriches for infection prior to the cull? If the farmer was willing to pay for that…and they ultimately tested negative…seems wasteful no?

If you do some rough back of the napkin math on the total radiator area required to cool a GW of orbital data centers, this becomes 58 acres. That’s assuming radiator tech is 10x more efficient than the old ones on the ISS. Insane!

Sorry not sorry. Managed to fly in the day that the Sundhnúksgígar crater was erupting in July, was pure luck I caught it.

Hopefully this stretch of moisture settles down all the fire activity

So I wonder if this also means Ascent is going to sell off C-GWXP. Looks like its last flight was Aug 8th.

They’ve been at it a while now, friend of mine saw C-GSHB land back in June for a medevac. They’re nice machines 🙂

Is that actually a goodyear blimp just hanging out for some training? Or has some ham’s pico balloon been on the lam with a stolen identity? 🪪🫆
