Ok, I may burst and have crawled to the sofa. Note to self, follow the recipe that was remarkable when you first made it and don't start substituting. There's reasons for certain products like they'll soaked up all the broth and your new way, well ... didn't. A touch soupy but yummy!

For a maiden voyage, this cake smells awesome and it's still in the oven! If the bottom burns because I used the wrong size pan I'm not sure at this point if I'll laugh or cry. I'll still eat the pears and sugar off the top, I'm not proud.

The last load of laundry is in the dryer and the cake is in the oven. This has been quite a productive day and it's only 2pm. I may take a well deserved nap or have a celebratory cocktail which will likely induce a nap. Win/Win.

So Rob, you'll love this. I just went to bake my cake and the recipe called for 7" springform pan. Mine is 9" so I split the diff so I completely went off script and used an 8" square glass pan.
The success level of this endeavor is in jeopardy! 😆
