I'm dragging this photo over from the other place and pinning it here since it makes me laugh. This is from my morning commute on the CTA Blue Line in February 2020. My first sign that things were going to get really weird, really quickly, and stay that way.

Saw the Japanese movie Happyend at the Gene Siskel Film Center tonight, if you get a chance to see it, I highly recommend it. Very prescient themes about surveillance, xenophobia, and governments using safety as an excuse for overreach and oppression.

I was wondering what happened to my city sticker as it has definitely been more than 10 business days since it was mailed and the deadline is coming up. I got an email from the city clerk's office that it was returned, and I have to pick it up. My address has not changed in five years.

We're back for another round of folding and whistle/zine distribution. This time we have 900 whistles to warn neighbors of ICE.

What we need: volunteers to print zines.
Connections with community organizers to distribute whistles. Hands to help fold.

I don't have any decent way to store a bike in my apartment building, but I have a small storage unit down four steps, so a folding ebike might be an option if the battery pack is easy to detach to haul up my three flights of stairs to charge.

Thankfully I have fairly decent dental insurance so that cost will be manageable, but still, it's dental insurance. It confounds me that the insurance industry has decided the mouth is a separate part of the body in need of its own, less regulated, and shittier, insurance policies.
