I spent most of the week in a virtual country called Carana, mentoring a joint peace mediation exercise by the students from the Finnish National Defence University and Tampere University. Like a fellow mentor put it, we learned as much as the students.

Excellent keynote by Renata Dwan on the Peacemaking in the New World Order -seminar. Few takeaways: When multilateralism is stuck, give room to minilateralism and ad hoc -coalitions, also embracing partial agreements, noting the dangers of forces comprehensiveness (pushing early elections etc).
