#EDS does have one weird perk. I'm literally ageing like
Dorian Grey. I'm 45 this year, & all the ageing is going into my joints. DH was just saying I look no different than 15 years ago. Zero fliter, minimal makeup. I'm slowly falling apart and it hurts alot...but I look young doing it. 🤣

Aggregating already allocated budgets with welfare benefits, the £20bn figure creates a more alarming narrative than saying...

Schools spend £12bn of their £64bn budget (19%) on the 18.4% of pupils with SEND.

Which actually sounds quite proportionate and could also be this headline....

Presenting SEND as a separate £21bn cost makes it look like services for disabled children are spiraling out of control, when actually it's mostly just disaggregating money already in other budgets.

I mean 20bn might seem reasonable but...

The £15bn "high needs" is already INSIDE the £64bn schools budget.
The health portions of EHC plans come from the NHS budget (£192bn)already counted.
The social care portions come from council budgets already counted.

Only the £6bn CDLA is "new".

NHS budget for health is what 180bn ? Schools get 12bn...so 7% we spend there? For 1 in 5 pupils.
