this was the most interesting sketch so far to me because on a mechanical level i felt like i was playing a variation of Mastermind and i wasn't exactly feeling positive about it. i also wondered to myself why a character would have to guess at their own flaws instead of feeling them naturally.

also by "randomized dungeons" it's really more "we made a few map layouts and we rearrange them and randomize the chests every time you enter" which is also disappointing

something i did by accident was pick Male Mariner as my player character, which is apparently the best for stat distribution / the two special skills you can earn (hours into the game). neither the game nor manual explains that If You Girl You Naturally Have Less Attack And Defense lmao

finished Biomotor Unitron for the Neo Geo Pocket Color. conceptually "pokemon but you build a mech and there's randomized dungeons" sounds like a banger but the execution here is extremely grindy and because dungeons are element-coded there's even less strategy than the average pokemon campaign.

tried out chocobo's dungeon 1 for the fucking wonderswan for some reason. not a fan, this first iteration in the series has combination tile-movement-turns and also ATB so to do attacks at full power/accuracy you have to stand and wait a few seconds in real time before pressing the button
