Assuming you’re talking about the US Democratic Party, I don’t think the term “pragmatic” applies, at the very least in the last decade or so. They’ve lost 2 of 3 Pres elections to Trump, lost the SC, lost abortion rights, lost on basically every issue, and have gained in no tangible way.

Hell, I’d have been happy with anything approaching “good”. Clinton, Biden, Harris — Dem leadership is constantly going, “Why are you holding out for perfect when we’re giving you utter shit?”

Dems spent 4 years doing nothing of real consequence about climate & Harris had no plans to change. She did a 180 on M4A. Palestine, if anything, is better under Trump. (Still terrible.) His plan for forced relocation is awful, but at least better than extermination endorsed by Biden/Harris. 🤷
