Gotta love laundry day when half your clothes are thrifted. All the fussy little tags threatening me with “dry clean only” or “hand wash, lay flat to reshape”

Oh, my little knitwit darlings, we both know that none of that is going to happen. Bon voyage! Enjoy the rinse cycle!

Honestly? I live for arctic exploration narratives. I’ve been on this for years and I have no idea why but it gets me every time.
going back to shutting my fucking mouth now like a wise person. anyway im excited to read bea uusma's "the expedition: a love story" and ally wilkes' "all the white spaces" which are both ambitious and exciting novels about arctic exploration

If I was a superhero, I’d wear stacked rings on every finger & my enemies would get a glimpse of their fate based on the color of the magical gemstone in my mood ring.

Shoutout to everyone whose love language is giving the panicked writer in the room a piece of emotional support paper while they look for their missing notebook 😅

I didn’t write a thing on it during that meeting, but it was basically a cellulose SSRI 🗒️😌

I’m hooting and hollering: “Zohran is proud not to have the experience of defunding the MTA, cutting Medicaid, empowering Republicans and resigning in disgrace after being credibly accused of serial sexual harassment,” Mamdani campaign spokesperson Andrew Epstein said about Cuomo’s comments.
In final stretch of New York mayoral race, Cuomo targets Mamdani's inexperience

Ok, as someone who studied clowning under a former mime who talked about Peter Brook a lot (especially for a mime) I fully endorse Nick Pinto’s observation.
Without saying anything either way about Brad Lander's mayoral campaign, I will say that this video of him eating a hot dog while riding the Cyclone displays a bone-deep understanding of physical comedy, the dignity of the clown, Keaton, Chaplin, Tati, etc. hellgatenyc.com/brad-lander-...

You’re at a protest and saw someone do something that you don’t approve of, that might get them in trouble with the cops? No you didn’t. Mind your business.

if i could snap my fingers and force all journalists everywhere to implement one linguistic tic i think i'd mandate "cars (which kill more than 3,000 people every day)"
Cars, which kill hundreds of New Yorkers every year, are allowed to go 10 mph above the speed limit before they get ticketed by speed cams.
Lyft initially declined to comply with Mayor Adams's proposed e-bike speed limit, pledging instead to slap speedometers and let riders self-regulate.

But that's before Deputy Mayor Randy Mastro stepped in and called the bikes "an emergency threat to life and property." buff.ly/ZOq4T0g

I feel lucky to have run into Edafe in my neighborhood & gotten to know more about his work, life & vision for our district! Even if you don’t live in D7, please follow & share about Edafe. With ranked choice voting, it’s especially important to share candidates who invest in community over donors.

Every time I go to a grocery store in another town, I turn into a little amateur anthropologist. Just wandering through each aisle, wondering ✨ What’s on sale? What’s the local must-have? Any good flyers up? What’re we raising funds for at the checkout & which lollipop flavors are left over?

Love our family tradition of watching Christmas rom coms & pausing to shout, “HEYYY, C’MON” every time someone has a snarky remark about The Big City.

I love NYC for a lot of reasons but one is that I stepped outside & gasped at the beauty of the full moon & thought: I need to talk about this!!! & a nice older man at the crosswalk asked, “The moon, right?” & fist bumped me, then said, “Take care!” & we moved on in our separate yet shared wonder.

Everything good that happened in my writing career happened because someone, normally another writer, helped me. Suggested me for something, put in a good word, and so on. The idea was always that you help others and they help others in their turn. It's not a win or lose game.

On the 1 train right now and the conductor’s voice is so melodic I’d ride to the end of the line if I didn’t have an appointment. Hope he moonlights as a radio show host.

When I say “I’m feeling really outdoorsy lately” I mean I used a carabiner on my tote bag to carry my Shake Shack order home after going to a lecture at the American Museum of Natural History.
