Right? I mean, when I worked at McDonald’s I wasn’t prohibited from eating at Burger King. Now I work at an orange big box store but you bet I’ll buy from the blue one if they have a better deal.

One of my absolute favorite designs by somebody from PWoT is this little guy. It makes me smile every time. (Also John Carpenter’s The Thing is my favorite horror movie and that is my favorite scene in it.)

I have a copy of John and Dave and the Temple of X’al’naa’thuthuthu saved to my OneDrive but I’m afraid to open it. Meanwhile, the vibes from these continue to dominate the rest of my PWoT bookshelf.

Pete Conrad did that during the psychological testing part of the Mercury astronaut screening process (he was rejected; his file had a note in it saying “not suited for long-duration flight”). As a Group 2 astronaut he flew two Gemini missions, walked on the moon, and commanded the first Skylab.

In the novel, adult Eddie is described as having compared a photograph of his then-fiancée Myra with one of his mother as a young woman, and then he marries Myra anyway. I guess the movie took the easiest way to show this aspect of Eddie’s character.
