Perhaps US being 57th in the World Press Freedom Index is not unconnected? bsky.app/profile/fath...
Given the current US obsession with European freedom of speech, it's worth noting that the US is in 57th place in the World Press Freedom Index, two places behind Romania.
#press freedom
#France = satisfactory
#UK too

Maggie Thatcher would NEVER have gone with the the pop-up sleeve tops (pic 1) - but when your natural shoulders have quite a slant (pic 2) some tailoring assistance is needed.

But consistency would be helpful - and maybe don’t cut from one to the other.

(Perhaps she’s just not v good at this?)

The real task isn’t “teaching people to spot misinformation.” It’s rebuilding conditions where verification, deliberation and accountability are possible. Critical thinking only works when the world around it gives those skills a place to take root.

The headline, the main takeaway from a European viewpoint is this:

The transatlantic relationship as we know it is over. Yes, we kinda knew this. But this is now official US White House policy. Not a sppech, not a statement. The West as it used to be no longer exists.

An SNP contributor on Sky's Politics Hub mase a great point earlier 'when the Shamima Begum story was in the headlines he said she was old enough to know what she was doing. Given he was the same age when he made these comments as she was then, is he saying that test doesn't apply to him?'

I look on from abroad, from one of the countries that thought we were friends and allies, with a shared set of values, (even knowing that nobody’s perfect). That it was a good idea, and safe, to share intelligence. That the US could be relied on.

It seems we were mistaken.
